Welcome to the Maryland Filmmakers Fall 2021 Film Festival application page. The Maryland Filmmakers Fall Film Festival celebrates the art of filmmaking, and storytelling. Our organization open to anyone interested in making, producing, directing, acting in, or editing student films at the University of Maryland, College Park. Maryland Filmmakers provides a taste of professional film making to all students by allowing them to work with other students on short films as a group. We bring together students from all across the campus, with all kinds of interests and areas of expertise, and allow them to work in the field of their interest and hone their skills in video production. As a club we teach the basics in video production, provide the equipment, assist during the film making process, and coordinate a venue in which to show their work to the general public.

Awards & Prizes

A panel of judges will select the winner who will receive a trophy and will be featured on our Facebook Page. There are two submission categories, and one award total for all outside submissions. Beyond this, we have several awards for in house productions from our 1000+ members!

Rules & Terms

All participants must follow the complete list of terms and conditions set forth below by The Maryland Filmmakers.

If selected, filmmakers are to provide a link to download a digital copy of your film for our projection team. Google Drive, WeTransfer, Dropbox, Vimeo or any other reputable download website will help make this process simple. Our programs are approximately 120 minutes in length. Films are screened in a back to back, rapid fire format to hold the interest of the audience. Shorter credits are appreciated.

Rules -
1. No more than 8 minutes including credits
2. Must have been completed after August 2018
3. No documentaries or music video
4. Must be able to attend the festival to win a prize!
5. Limit 5 submissions per person.

The Maryland Filmmakers Fall Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless TMF Fall Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
