The 28th annual Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival (MIFF) is a Space Coast short film festival at Premiere Theaters (Oaks-10) in Melbourne Florida. It is open to filmmakers from around the world. The MIFF includes all short form genres appropriate for a broad audience and has two screening blocks that feature Florida filmmakers: “Florida Made Films” and “Rising Stars” where we focus on young film makers.

Film makers who say: “I want to see my film in a movie theater and use the same system as Hollywood films” will have their dreams come true at the MIFF. You can see your film on the big screen and enjoy eclectic indie films in a movie theater and experience how indie movies look and sound their best. At the MIFF’s closing night, walk the red carpet and be interviewed live streamed to the theater and recorded for YouTube.

Specially requested independent feature films have been screened at the MIFF such as “Woman in Motion,” “The Martial Arts Kid,” “I’ll Believe You,” and the Bollywood movie “Bang Bang” with Hollywood talent like Patrick Warburton, David Allen Basche, Ed Harris, and Don “The Dragon” Wilson. Oh, and every penny made from this Central Florida film festival goes to a local charity: No Limits Academy, a non-profit Christian School for physically disabled children ages 6-21.

The MIFF will create the DCP program file needed to show your film at the movie theater, but it will NOT be a single file for your film but rather a large file containing all the films in a particular block, i.e. Comedy, Horror, etc...
Be recognized for your independent film, see your film on the BIG screen, and enjoy your fellow film makers’ creative energy you will find at the MIFF!

I regret I could not attend The Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival. Communication was solid. I hope to attend in the future! It was an honor and a thrill for our film to be a part of the program.

This was more than just a film festival the organisers made everyone feel like they were family. The turnout and quality of films submitted were amazing. I would recommend film schools, acting schools and any programs relating to this industry to send all their students to attend this incredible 3 day festival. What you take away from this event is knowledge and wisdom that may change your future! Thank you MIFF for putting on such a serious but extremely entertaining and fun production for everyone whom attended. See you next year and for decades to come!

What a wonderful, fun-vibe film festival! First of all, the venue was amazing. Fabulous, stylish space to network and full DCP projection bringing out the full potential of each film. Tremendously accommodating organizers and staff, excellent communication - just pro all the way. Well done!

Sadly I was unable to attend this year, but the communication was stellar. I've heard so many great things about this festival, and I hope to one day be back with them and make it down. And kudos to the entire team for going on with the festival after a massive storm. Thanks for for us!
