'The Horror Cut' presents an evening dedicated to showcasing a selection of chilling horror films at The Old Hairdressers in Glasgow, an independent arts centre and bar. The venue's walls have been stripped back to reveal the building's striking original design. This, along with the bare lightbulbs strung from a height and a lavish cornice, creates a stark but elegant setting for a spooky night of horror.

We're seeking horror films that embrace the eerie, macabre, and supernatural, spanning various subgenres from classic slashers to supernatural thrillers to psychological horror. This diverse range ensures that our audience can delve into a spine-tingling atmosphere of cinematic scares.

We accept independent projects from horror, gore, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery & dark horror comedy.

  • The Horror Cut was a truly excellent festival for our short, Dogs and Ghosts, to be a part of. The festival organisers were very friendly and welcoming. The audience was diverse, with a strong female contingent. I was privileged to participate in a filmmakers Q&A at the end of the screenings.

Superb festival! They look after and care about their filmmakers. It makes a huge difference when festivals do this. Very well organised and an altogether smooth sail.
