The DynamitExperience is excited to open submissions for the 2023 Bridges Dance Film Festival. After our inaugural year's successful presentation of Cords of Community with selections made by panelists of Andy Chapman, Juel Lane, Remi Harris, Rebecca Oviatt, Latra Ann Wilson, and André Zachary. We are excited to accept new submissions with esteemed panelists that are to be announced at a later date.

This year's selections will be screened at Music Heritage Theater in Kansas City, MO on July 22nd, 2023.

We are seeking submissions that honor the theme Bridges. Submissions are required to engage with a theme of bridging community, ideas, and closing the gap however that may be interpreted. TDE is specifically seeking Dance Films (10 minutes or less) showcasing creative solutions to alternate locations, and daring to experiment with new ideas in dance-film making to elevate the experiences film specifically has to offer.

Filmmakers receive festival laurels upon acceptance into the festival.

Rules & Terms

Projects submitted to TheDynamiteExperience (TDE) "Bridges" Film Festival prioritize submissions from filmmakers based in NYC or Kansas City, MO but are not a requirement to submit. Films must be no longer than 10 minutes in length. By submitting projects to the festival, artists agree that images and footage from their projects may be used for marketing purposes and may be used for future marketing initiatives. The DynamitExperience "Bridges" Film Festival assumes all music and visual permissions and rights for projects submitted have been attained by the submitting artists. TDE is not responsible for attaining permissions or rights for material.
