01. Anyone across the nation can enter The Comedy Roll (TCR)!
02. Each film entry must have a team captain. The captains are responsible for corresponding with TCR administrators. They are also the recipient of prizes. Team captains must be at least 18 years old.
03. All music must be owned by the team captain. This can be original music or music that you have obtained the appropriate rights for. Generative artificial intelligence (AI) may not be used in the production of your film. It may also not be used to write your stories. For questions on this, please e-mail us.
04. All proper talent release forms and agreements must be filled out before submitting. The Comedy Roll is not responsible for improper document keeping or not following SAG guidelines. All films submitted under the "Comedy Roll 2026" category grant The Comedy Roll non-exclusive rights to promote and showcase under their social platforms.
05. Films must be no longer than 5-minutes in length, including the credits. Credits are not required in the film, but a PDF list is required to be turned in. If you are competing in the Last Laugh, your film can be up to 15 minutes in length.
06. If possible, please submit films that are 4096 x 1716 and 24fps. This is NOT required, but it is HIGHLY encouraged if you wish for your film to fill the entirety of the screen. Thumbnails, posters, and behind-the-scenes content are highly encouraged as well.
07. No person, animal, place, or thing is to be harmed during the making of these films. Do not break any laws to create your film. Nudity will be reviewed on a case by case basis and most have written consent from the performers involved. Pornography and scenes of sexual assault are prohibited.
** The Comedy Roll Administrators reserve the right to refuse entries that are deemed inappropriate, are non-complacent with the official rules, have potential to harm TCR’s brand, or that don’t reflect the spirit of the competition.**
