A film competition for artists, animators and filmmakers.

In commemoration of Charlie Chaplin, who lived with his brother above Blue Shop Gallery between 1908 and 1910, we are launching a short film competition to celebrate the opening of our brand new gallery space and to honour the cinematic heritage of the building.

ENTRANCE GUIDELINES
We are inviting artists and filmmakers from all over the world to create a film (2 - 5 mins) on the subject of BLUE; whether that be the colour, the emotional state, the sound, the concept or any other interpretation. We encourage/welcome entrants to think divergently and explore concepts/ideas that comment on the theme/subject of BLUE, in whatever way the theme presents itself to you, the artist.

The videos can be newly created or from a pre-existing body of work.

HOW TO ENTER
Email a dropbox or video platform (youtube/vimeo) link to hello@blueshopcottage.com with the subject line CHAPLIN FILMMAKING AWARD ENTRY.
When submitting your entries, we ask that you provide a short artist bio and description of the work you have entered including your website / Instagram handle.

DEADLINE
Midnight February 28th 2023

THE PANEL
The competition will be judged by a special panel of judges, to be announced soon.

‘The flat at 15 Glenshaw Mansions, Brixton Road, was our cherished haven. We lived in it as though it were a holy temple.’ - Charlie Chaplin, My Autobiography
