The Celynen Film Festival is a place to share films and a safe haven for filmmakers to connect, share, and learn. Where we aim to inspire, motivate and award new and existing talent.

The first edition of The Celynen Film Festival will illustrate the art of film-making, promote Welsh filmmakers, nurture young talent and bring attention to often marginalised communities and projects. The festival takes place over three days, 24th-26th May 2024 at Newbridge Memo. 
The three-day event will include a launch party on May 24th at 7pm featuring pre-screenings, live music, and guest speakers. Our screenings will take place alongside our annual music and arts festival TIWNFEST, and the awards ceremony will be held on May 26th at 5pm, which will feature our panel of experts, guest speakers, live music and the award ceremony.

Rules & Terms

If your film is chosen for screening, we will send you an acceptance email and request a digital transfer of your entry. The file must be received by the date stated in the acceptance email, or your film will not be screened.


Submission Format 
Films must be submitted via online screener.

Submission Eligibility 

- Submissions can be from ANY YEAR.

- All films not in the English language are required to have English subtitles.

- We will only accept films under 120 minutes.

The Celynen Film Festival’s decision is final, and we cannot enter into a discussion about films not accepted. Currently, we do not offer feedback on any projects or decisions made regarding judging.

Not all successful applicants will be selected for screening, however, ALL successful applicants will be presented with a TCFF Laurel Award.

To be accepted for contention for Best Non-Binary Performer we require the pro-nouns for each performer.

Submission Fee 

- All FilmFreeway submissions for The Celynen Film Festival are to be paid by credit card or PayPal. The submission fee is non-refundable.
    
By submitting to The Celynen Film Festival (TCFF) I confirm that I have read and accept the terms and regulations of TCFF and I will provide the festival with any additional information required pursuant to these rules and regulations. I authorise TCFF to exhibit my film, and if selected, I confirm that an exhibition copy will be available in a required format for screening during the 2024 festival.
I certify that I hold all necessary rights for the submission of this film/video to TCFF and that all rights and clearances have been made. This film is not subject to any litigation nor is threatened by any litigation. I hold TCFF harmless from damage to, or loss of any or all materials en route to, from or otherwise at the festival. I assume all legal responsibilities therein.

By agreeing to these terms, I transfer to TCFF the right to use excerpts of the submitted film, its stills, and trailers, for the purposes of publicity and marketing of the film at the 2024 festival, and for other non-commercial uses related to the promotion of the 2024 festival. I hereby agree to indemnify TCFF in the event that such rights have not been properly transferred.
