Lights, Cameras, Bikes! We're calling for submissions to our upcoming 2018 Big Bike Film Night.
New Zealand's premier travelling bike-themed short-film festival is going full tilt towards 2018 and celebrating our 4th year.
What’s the Big Bike Film Night all about? Sharing the best cycling SHORT films from around the world with our audience.
IF YOUR FILM DOES NOT HAVE A RELEVANCE TO CYCLING - PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT IT! Only bike related DOCUMENTARY films under 30 minutes will be considered. Please read the categories of films we are looking for carefully to ensure your film fits our criteria.
Showcasing a collection of short movies that have everything a Bike Centric audience could want- action, drama, humour and plenty of inspiration. This event captures the spirit of cycling.
The films selected are a great reminder of why we love to ride our bike; with stories that captivate us, stories that make us think and most importantly of all- stories that inspire us to get on a bike.
Make it. Submit it. Get Selected.
Entries close: 12 January 2018
Thanking you in advance
the team at The Big Bike Film Night
Charging you for the privilege of submitting your film is… frankly not fitting and not very collaborative. Our aim is to produce the best programme of films and attract as many people as possible to see them. We respect and appreciate your support and value what you do as a film maker/ production house.
We have a desire to see others succeed and this year we are non-competitive; with all participating films in the Big Bike Film Night 2018 Collection receiving a merit of financial reward.
Submissions may be up to 25 minutes long, The films can be about road cycling, mountain biking, BMX, adventure based, documentaries, humorous or something entirely different; we are open minded about the style and genre but it must show bicycles.
Screening versions of the films can be submitted directly to FilmFreeway for download and a Film Submission Form (one per film) should be completed on our website and returned by 12th January 2018. If you have a Press Kit/ Trailer for your film (720p or 1080p) please submit with this form.

-Receipt of entries will be acknowledged by the BBFN Organiser as long as the correct email address is supplied and ONLY if requested.
