Thapelo Moima was born in a small town called Thabazimbi and was raised in a village called Tlhatlaganyane, North West province in South Africa. After high school, he studied Biochemistry and Chemistry at the University of Johannesburg. Then pursued an honours degree in Chemistry followed by Master's degree in Nanoscience from the same university. He worked as a mathematics teacher for three years . He then pursued and completed a qualification in Filmmaking and television production which he personally funded. He has written feature length romantic comedy screenplays, No, ..., and it's sequel, No, I meant yes, two psychological thriller/horror scripts, Nothing is really lost and The guesthouse, and a fantasy/sci-fi, As you wished. He has written short dramedy, A bad day to die, two horrors, Botlhale jwa phala and Not alone, action/comedy, The wrong interview, an action/romance, Adventure of love, a thriller/disaster, Black Christmas, and a thriller, A bad day to die. He has also collaborated with a former learner to write a dramedy "Ex from crèche". He has short short films which he distributed on YouTube and Facebook under JT 8000 Pictures and to date has short three (3) music videos. In Gurushots he's ranked as an expert photographer with over 250 photos, of which two (2) have been featured in exhibitions. His short film script, The wrong interview, was funded by NFVF in 2022 and was produced in 2023. He has participated in few film festival around the world and his projects have been selected, reached quarter finals and won in one film festival. His short film scripts, Black Christmas and The bulldog of London, reached semi final status in Muse Awards by Writer's Guild Of South Africa.
