I never once imagined writing a screenplay.
It all started with a game I devised to "instill a love of science" in my then six-year-old child. We were going to create a hero in our imaginations similar to those in our favorite cartoons but with all their superpowers based on science, forcing them to frequently incorporate science into the game, ultimately turning my child into a happy "nerd" just as I wanted.
I wonder was it just us who experienced this or do all writers know this feeling? After a while your story takes control and starts writing itself. To a frightening degree...
Before long we felt our story had gone beyond what we initially envisioned. So much so that all the urban legends and mysteries could now be easily explained within this narrative. It was no longer possible to leave it as just a fond memory of a childhood game.
