Tawhida Tanya Evanson is a poet, author, performer and producer. Her debut novel Book of Wings (2021) won the 2022 CAM/Blue Metropolis New Contribution Prize and was one of Quill & Quire's books of the year. Her French autotranslation Livre des ailes (2023) is fresh from Marchand de feuilles.

With a twenty-five-year practice in oral poetry, storytelling and music, she performs internationally and has released several studio albums. As Mother Tongue Media she producer interarts events, short films and now the upcoming 2023 live concert film CYANO SUN SUITE. Born and based in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal of Antiguan and québécoise origin, and she moonlights as a whirling dervish.
