Tanumoy Biswas is an independent short filmmaker from Kolkata, India. He started his journey of making films after his school. Within his first 7 years in filmmaking he has directed 9 short films. His filmography includes, Use Me- a film about waste management and everyday heroes, followed by New Life-based on random acts of kindness released in the same year 2015.Then next two years saw the release of his art and social film Nijeshhota(Selfness) and historical documentary short film Bhagat Singh-The Last Letter. The most liked installment to his filmography was “The Diary - Don't open it” a 10 min horror/thriller short film which bagged the 2nd runner up and best actress award in the Anandalok short cut short film contest held in June,2018. After this film, he had a long gap and again started making a short film MRITYUNJAY in 2020. In 2021 He developed it and made a 1 minute short film named Voices out of Mrityunjay and got best film from Ilead-o-scope film fest. He also made a short film on quarantine time in Durga puja known as #Amar durga puja, which was liked by many people and also recognized as best film in LENS-USTAV 2021. In 2022, he made Anthem, a short film on the importance of Nation and its cultural significance. Recently he made another short film “SAFAR” which is not released until now, He is planning to feature it in different festivals. He also worked in a recent music video, “Uff ki gorom” in youtube platform as an Assistant Director. Now he is focusing on building more knowledge to film making and Direction.
