Tania Notaro is an actor/writer/director from Dublin. She holds a First-Class Master’s degree in Screenwriting for Film & TV from The National Film School, IADT, for which she was awarded a prestigious Warner Brothers scholarship. This accolade inaugurated her into the Warner Brothers Creative Talent team as an exceptional artist and one to watch. She was selected for Screen Ireland’s Spotlight Scheme for emerging writers with her show CABARET CARTEL, now in development with Wild Atlantic Pictures (Evil Dead Rise, Cocaine Bear, The Pope’s Exorcist). The project also earned her a finalist spot at the Fís TV Summit pitching competition. She was this year's STORYLAND finalist and was commissioned by RTE to write her TV pilot CHOKE. Her feature script BOXED won the John Boorman Scholarship at The London Film School, allowing her to direct under Boorman’s mentorship. Awarded the Actor As Creator by Screen Ireland, Tania made her directorial debut with her film Glitterbug, which she also wrote, produced and starred in, winning her Best Emerging Director at IndieCork, and Best Actress at Curtas Festival do Imaxinario, Spain. Winner of the Sharp Shorts Award by Virgin Media, Tania made her second film Postpartum, which she wrote, directed, produced and starred in. Her second film POSTPARTUM premiered on Virgin Media TV and was available on the player. It continues to win festival accolades. An alumnus of the Series Mania Institute in France, Tania developed her script UPROOTED through their Eureka programme. Last year she was part of the European Writers Club Boosting Impact programme, working as a shadow writer on THE LAST FLIGHT OF THE CONDOR, with Spain’s SGAE, and the TV show was sold to Chile TV. She now serves on the board of the European Writers’ Club and The Writers Guild of Ireland. Tania is passionate about creating socially conscious films from a female perspective, with a strong focus on marginalized communities.
