Tamara Šuša is a Serbian-born photographer and documentary filmmaker based in Snowmass Village, Colorado. Her work focuses on the intersection of landscape, adventure, and environmental storytelling, often exploring how people interact with remote and changing environments.
Originally from Belgrade, Tamara holds a Master’s degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of the Arts London. Since moving to the Rocky Mountains in 2012, she has built a career documenting mountain landscapes, outdoor culture, and human-powered exploration across the world.
Her films and photographic projects have taken her from the mountains of Colorado to the polar regions. She has participated in multiple Antarctic ski expeditions as an expedition photographer with Ice Axe Expeditions and was an artist in residence aboard the sailing vessel Antigua during the Arctic Circle Art & Science Residency in Svalbard. These experiences have shaped her long-term interest in documenting fragile environments and the communities that move through them.
Tamara’s films have been screened internationally, including at La Nuit de la Glisse, where she was featured as the festival’s only female filmmaker. Her documentary work includes projects such as 2 Legs Is 2 Easy and 80 for 80, films that explore resilience, mountain culture, and the personal stories behind adventure sports.
In addition to filmmaking, Tamara works as a commercial photographer for outdoor brands, tourism organizations, and ski destinations. She has photographed campaigns and editorial work for Aspen Snowmass, Snowmass Tourism, and ESPN at the X Games.
Through both film and photography, Tamara’s work seeks to capture the emotional relationship between people and wild places, inviting audiences to consider not only the beauty of these landscapes but also their vulnerability.
