TALIA OSTEEN got her start in the industry as an actress, starring in 5 national TV series before her passion for storytelling prompted her to move behind the camera. She graduated from USC's Cinema-Television Production program and went on to direct the feature documentary, BLINDSIDED (HBO). She then honed her narrative skills on the development & production side, working her way up to become Head of Development and Production for NYC-based Overnight Films (MACHETE, THE LUCKY ONES, 13).Talia's career took another creative turn, this time to music, when her band The Wellspring was offered a national tour opening for Pete Yorn & Ben Kweller. They’ve since released 5 albums and composed scores for NBC Uni/Bravo drama TV series IMPOSTERS and comedy films COFFEE TOWN (HBO/CollegeHumor) & SLOW LEARNERS (IFC/Netflix). Talia continues to freelance produce in film/TV; she co-produced feature comedy FLOCK OF DUDES (Chris D’Elia, Kumail Nanjiani) and has a slate of projects she's writing/developing, including LAVENDER MENACE, a TV project which she co-created with Sara Hess (ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, HOUSE) and Laurie Wheeler, currently in development with ABC Signature Studios. Kerry Washington is attached to produce via Simpson Street Productions. Talia recently wrote and directed THE SHABBOS GOY, a short film that was produced by Paul Feig & his production company Powderkeg, as part of their inaugural Fuse Directing Program.
