TARABA HUMAN RIGHTS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (TAHRIFF)

INTRODUCTION
The Taraba Human Rights International Film Festival (TAHRIFF) is an innovative platform dedicated to using the power of film to advocate for human rights, celebrate cultural heritage, and foster meaningful dialogue on social issues. This maiden edition will take place from September 24th–28th, 2025, in Jalingo, Taraba State, and aims to engage diverse audiences through inspiring film screenings, discussions, and workshops.

RIFF’s Strategic Role: The Rock International Film Festival (RIFF) has played an integral role in the creation and development of TAHRIFF, serving as a strategic partner, mentor, and consultant in shaping the festival's structure and programming. With RIFF’s guidance, TAHRIFF is poised to emerge as a leading platform for advocating human rights and empowering communities through cinema.

OBJECTIVES
TAHRIFF seeks to:

* Raise Awareness: Use films as a medium to educate and create awareness about human rights and cultural values.
* Promote Dialogue: Facilitate discussions on pressing social issues with the participation of diverse stakeholders.
* Empower Communities: Offer training and resources to young creators and filmmakers to amplify their voices.
* Celebrate Culture: Showcase and preserve the cultural heritage of Taraba and Nigeria.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

* Film Screenings: High-quality local and international films addressing human rights, culture, and social issues.
* Workshops and Training: Capacity-building sessions for filmmakers and content creators.
