Their inspiration is deeply rooted in a quest for community healing, self-awareness, and the freedom and advancement of queer & black and indigenous people of color. Synead’s music is not bound by genres, but bound to the varied experiences we all share as humans.
She was named one of Teen Vogue's 17 Rising Stars Who Personify Black Excellence During Black History Month. Synead has been honored by the NAACP as a history maker in her crucial role in community organization and has been a keynote speaker at Harvard's Alumni of Color Conference in 2015 in connection to social justice and organizing Millions March NYC in December 2014.

Synead’s music is not bound by genres, but bound to her varied experience as an artist and human. When you come to one of her shows, you can always expect a twirl and some shenanigans. Synead most recently released an artistic statement/visual narrative for her single “Whirlwind” (co-written with Matt FX & Ollie Chanin /produced by Emmett Kai) in collaboration with Magnus Works, an emerging platform that seeks to investigate various languages of movement and expression through the cultivation of conceptual work and its relationship to the humanity of audiences. You can most likely find her trying to catch a twirl, dismantling toxic structures within her communities or playing with kittens. She loves cats. Her latest artistic endeavor is entitled “The Pum Pum Room”, a traveling immersive performance experience surrounding a fictional club, a community near you, and a hot whine set to test run later this summer.
