Susan Aparicio (b.1996, Pico Rivera, CA) is a first-generation Mexican Honduran American whose art practice considers the handling of her non-aligned identities in her videos, installations, and object making. Her work is created through the dissection of her identities as they reflect and attempt to un-assimilate from having lived in white suburbia and as they confront the stereotypical challenge of returning to her root identity in southeast Los Angeles.
Susan Aparicio holds a BA in Studio Art and Cognitive Science from the University of Virginia, and is a current MFA candidate at UCLA.
