"This is one of the few festivals that actually likes filmmakers, unlike most that just screen your film and kick you out right after. I highly recommend this festival to the locals, had a lot of fun last year, great venue and organizers, with a great host."
- Vlad Nikitin, Director, 'Grand Chinatown Robbery'

Our mission at the Studio City international Film Festival is to present cutting-edge films that will entertain, provoke, and inform it's audience members.

All genres are welcome. We wish to encourage all cultures and ethnicities. It is our firm belief that the arts are a unifying force that serve to bridge all cultural and ethnic gaps.

Special consideration is given to films that emphasize the art of storytelling.

Why you should submit your film to the Studio City festival:

1. Because we are situated in the heart of the entertainment industry, each year the festival features a number of distributors and celebrities.

2. We make it fun and memorable for the filmmakers. We give a lot of personal attention to all the filmmakers.

3. We also have networking events in the bar and lounge of the theater, so there is ample opportunity to network.

4. We will have filmmaker Q&As after every film block, workshops and panel discussions .

FIVE STARS! Where to begin with how awesome this festival is?! Let's start with Steve Sturla, who runs his festival like Houdini runs a magic act - seamlessly, spectacularly, and constantly keeping the audiences entertained and on the edges of their seats. His programming is diverse and excellent, his communication skills are second-to-none (a very, very rare thing with festivals - most make you regret even submitting), and his P.T. Barnum-level sense of showmanship makes you feel less like you've entered a film fest (although it is an awesome one of those, by any definition) and more like you're been granted admission to a wonderful symposium on cinema and culture. Gripping, socially relevant dramatic pieces play alongside crazy-fun genre picks, and informative lectures on vital topics like film financing are offered up alongside moving tributes to film legends. If you've been burned by other festivals and want to feel like you're truly part of something unique and innovative, enter this fest and get ready to be happy!

  • Our pilot script, Bobbi & Olivia, won BEST TV PILOT at The Studio City Film Festival. Steve Sturla was great every step of the way. He even asked us to do a scene read from the script. My only thumbs-down was that I couldn't be there, due to an illness. But my writing partner had a great time!
