Steven Martini's first film was as an actor when he was cast in the lead role of Alex Stone in the 90's comedy Major Payne. Steven's first script as a co-writer was Smiling Fish and Goat on Fire, which won Toronto International Film Festival Discovery Award. Martini subsequently had the honor of becoming a fellow alumnus of the Sundance Institute's filmmaking labs with their second co-written script, LymeLife. BitterSweet marks Steven's solo debut as a writer/director.

My second screenplay Lymelife, which I also co-wrote and produced and composed the score won the International FIPRESCI award in 2008.
