Steven Carpenter grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio before relocating to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he wrote, directed, and edited his debut short film, ‘SHOVEL.’ In 2017, he moved to Austin, Texas, to immerse himself in the city's rich artistic community.
While attending the Austin School of Film, his Super 8 black and white student film, ‘GAUZEHEAD,’ was chosen to be screened at the SXSW Film Festival by the school. Additionally, it has been featured at the Madame ZuZu’s International Film Festival in Highland Park, IL. His inaugural short film, ‘SHOVEL,’ was showcased at the Innovative Film Festival in Tampa, FL.
Currently, Steven is engaged in writing a feature-length screenplay inspired by characters from his paintings and an unpublished novel. He is also finishing up the scripts for several short film projects slated for completion in the coming year.
