Steve F. Anderson is a filmmaker, media artist and writer working at the intersection of media, history and technology. A former documentary film and sound editor, Steve has written or edited books on media historiography, technologies of vision and popular documentary. His creative projects include the feature-length video essay Reality Frictions; the 360-degree dome film, Eyes of the World; the mixed reality installation Live-VR Corridor, and the interactive/immersive environment Machine Visions: Mojave. Steve is also the founder and administrator of the appropriation-friendly public media archive Critical Commons. He is a Professor of Film, TV and Digital Media and Design Media Arts at UCLA, and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture.
