This is the first year for the Stettler Film Festival in Alberta, Canada. Our committee has gathered to help promote the art of storytelling through film, to help encourage future filmmakers and to help bring great films to our community during Alberta's annual Culture Days. We are looking for films that highlight our beautiful province and the amazing talent within it during our one-week film festival. Q&A with actors, directors, writers, camera operators and other industry professionals. Our festival will end with a formal Gala & Awards Night.

5. Stettler Film Festival Award - A film chosen by the SFF Committee that best represents skill in filmmaking, storytelling, acting, writing and directing.

Awards to winners will be announced at the Gala.

SFF 2022 Submission Guidelines

$15 Early Bird Registration before May 15, 2022
$25 May 22 - Jul 1, 2022
$10 Students

Films submitted this year must either be about Alberta Canada, filmed in Alberta Canada or have writers, actors, directors, filmmakers, camera operators from Alberta Canada. You must explain in your submission the relationship your film has to the province.

Professional and amateur films from all genres are invited to participate as long as the above requirements are met.

CATEGORIES
Short Films: 40 minutes or less
Documentary: > 60 minutes - Must provide a trailer
Features: > 80 minutes - Must provide a trailer
Music Video: < 5 minutes (Original Music required)

Films must have been created or completed on or after July 31, 2018.

All films must be in English or have English subtitles.

Submissions will only be accepted through FilmFreeway.

If your film is selected, you will be asked to provide all available marketing materials in digital format.

Our venue requires DCP format.

All submission fees are non-refundable.

By submitting your film to SFF, you declare that you own all copyrights or permission from the owner of the copyrights, of everything contained in the submitted film(s) and shall indemnify the SFF, its Committee, judges, screeners or employees of Rairdan Services, Inc., from any claim, if any, that may arise. SFF reserves the right to disqualify any submission at any time for any reason, including but not limited to any question of ownership, copyright infringement or any sign of disrespect (in any form of media) to the festival or its representatives.

Someone associated with the film chosen for the festival must send at least one representative to speak about the film in a Q&A during the festival. Writers, directors, actors, and camera operators are all welcome to the event. All selected films will receive two SFF passes to the festival and any associated events. More festival passes can be arranged depending upon your level of participation in the festival.

By submitting, you are agreeing to allow SFF to use your submission in any and all promotional events for the festival.

We will not be accepting any films for consideration after the deadline.

Submissions accepted into the festival may not be withdrawn after acceptance.

By submitting your film to SFF, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to all SFF guidelines.
