Stephanie Garrison is a writer from New York’s Hudson Valley and New Orleans. After receiving her BA in English and Secondary Education from Marist College, where she won the John P. Anderson playwriting competition in 2007, she earned her MFA in Dramatic Writing at Adelphi University.
Her work includes Everything in Black and White and Without a Safety Net, both performed at the New York Variations Theatre Group Harvest One Act Festival; The Bechdel Conundrum, via the New Orleans Southern Rep 3x3 program and Fat Squirrel; Enter Violence, with New Orleans’ Elm Theatre; Solitary, for the Two for Tennessee Program during the New Orleans Tennessee Williams Literary Festival; and many ten minute plays. Her full length Broken Codes, a speculative piece set in a dystopian Louisiana that has lost its coast, premiered in New Orleans at Big Couch, in October of 2023. Her collaborative work, Starcrossed, is currently on the longlist for the 2025 Electric Book Award.
