Whether in dance, theatre, performance, singing, or clown art, Stéphanie’s work centers the body as an artistic medium and anchors itself in sensations she hopes are contagious. As an intersex person rendered doubly invisible—both by society and within the queer community—Stéphanie has carried since childhood the traces of objectification, both through social gaze and medical scrutiny. This lived experience has led her to develop an artistic practice rooted in the body and in the social habits that settle within it over time.
Screendance (with Wetsuit, alter exo, Held Shape/Mold Me Tender, and Steel Boudoir) offers her a space of greater intimacy, allowing her to explore pain and the ongoing effort of self-affirmation through movement and image. For her, the body is more than a tool — it is a metonym for the spaces and territories in which we live, move, and create. Bodies shaped and sculpted by forces we barely control, if at all.
Stéphanie has a deep affinity for collective processes and has worked in community arts for over 20 years, supporting groups from diverse backgrounds. Taking seriously the act of not taking herself too seriously — along with cold-water swimming — keeps her curiosity alive and fuels her constant desire to take on new challenges, ensuring she never lingers long in her comfort zone.
