A trans Filipina filmmaker with a desire to portray transgender experiences on film as honestly as she can.
Stef Aranas is a trans Filipina filmmaker and musician from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She made her directorial debut in the University of the Philippines Film Institute's Black Beret competition with the short film, Mimi's Makeover (2018). While Manila was in lockdown, she completed her thesis film, Resolving 'Your Biggest Fan' (2020), which made its way to the Toronto Queer Film Festival and the UP Pride Film Festival. With her work, she aims to shed light upon the issues and experiences of transgender and queer people, in hopes of uplifting and empowering the transgender/queer community.
