The festival will take place like a hybrid format from Jul 27 to 31 of 2026.

SUBMISSIONS:
The registration period is from January 1 to May 10 of 2026. Submission through platforms will be free from January 1 to March 08, 2026, after this date the registration fee will be 7 eur or USD from March 08 to April 12 and 9 eur or USD from April 13 to May 10, excluding this the Colombian films.
INSCRIPCIONES:
El periodo de inscripciones es desde el 01 de Enero a Mayo 10 del 2026. Las inscripciones a través de plataformas será gratuita del 01 de Enero al 08 de Marzo de 2026, posterior a esta fecha se cobrará un fee de 7 euros del 09 de marzo al 12 de abril y de 9 euros del 13 de abril al 10 de mayo. Excluidos de esto las obras colombianas.

CATEGORÍAS DE COMPETENCIA:
Reflejos: Cortometrajes de ficción internacionales de max 10 minutos.
Raíces: Cortometrajes documentales internacionales de max 15 minutos.
Contracorriente Nacional: Cortometrajes de ficción, animación y documentales colombianos de max 10 minutos.
Nuevas Generaciones: Cortometrajes de ficción, animación y documentales internacionales infantiles y juveniles de max 10 minutos.
CONDITIONS
1. Only register the film the producer or director.
2.All the films produced during the years 2024, 2025 or after January 1, 2026 may participate.
3. The short films will have a maximum duration of 10 minutes including credits. Except for documentaries, which will have a maximum duration of 15 minutes including credits.
4. The same film can not participate in several categories. Only the category most in accordance with the film must be chosen.
5. The productions will be presented in the original version. Those that are not filmed in Spanish must be presented with the corresponding subtitles in Spanish for their exhibition at the festival. These subtitles will be attached as a separate file in the standard .SRT format or they should be inserted in the film. Disqualification may not cause to present subtitles in Spanish.
6. The exhibition formats are: In audiovisual file with H.264 codec, extension .mov or .mp4, and resolution 1920 X 1080 NO OTHER CODEC OR EXTENSIONS WILL BE RECEIVED.
7. The films that do not technically guarantee a correct projection will be rejected.
8. The festival is not responsible for possible infractions in the matter of copyright in which the received films may incur, being these always the responsibility of its producer and / or director.
9. Films that have participated in previous versions of the festival will not be considered.
10. In the case of the category for nationals, films that are produced in another country and where only the director is Colombian will not be accepted. If it is completely produced outside of Colombia, it will be considered an international film. Only co-productions that have an equitable percentage of participation among the participating countries will be accepted.
11. If the film is pre-selected or selected, it must attach the authorization for its exhibition at the indicated times, otherwise the film may be disqualified. If an answer is not obtained by the director regarding the nomination, it may be disqualified.
12. Some prizes will have to have additional authorization from their director to be granted and it will be up to the participant to accept or reject it.
13. The festival will be hybrid format, in this case the films that will are part of the official selection may be exhibited online during the festival dates in addition to the spaces for face-to-face projections.
CONDICIONES:
1. Podrán inscribir la obra solamente el director o el productor.
2. Podrán participar todas las obras producidas durante los años 2024, 2025 o posteriores al 01 de enero de 2026.
3. Los cortometrajes participantes tendrán una duración máxima de 10 minutos incluyendo créditos. A excepción de los documentales que tendrán una duración máxima de 15 minutos incluyendo créditos.
4. Una misma obra no puede participar en varias categorías. Se debe elegir solo la categoría más acorde a la obra.
5. Las producciones se presentarán en versión original. Aquellas que no estén rodadas en español deberán presentarse con los correspondientes subtítulos en castellano para su exhibición en el festival. Estos subtítulos se adjuntarán como archivo independiente en el formato estándar .SRT o deben ser insertados en la obra. Podrá ser causal de descalificación no presentar subtítulos en español.
6. Los formatos de exhibición son: En archivo audiovisual con codec H.264, extensión .mov o .mp4, y resolución 1920 X 1080 NO SE RECIBIRÁN OTROS CÓDEC NI EXTENSIONES.
7.Serán rechazados aquellos trabajos que no garanticen técnicamente una correcta proyección.
8.El festival no se hace responsable de las posibles infracciones en materia de derechos de autor en que puedan incurrir los trabajos recibidos, siendo éstas siempre responsabilidad de su productor y/o director.
9. No se tendrán en cuenta obras que hayan participado en versiones anteriores del festival.
10. En el caso de la categoría para los nacionales no se aceptarán obras que sean producidas en otro país y en donde solo el director sea colombiano, de estar completamente producida fuera de Colombia será considerada como obra internacional. Serán aceptadas solo coproducciones que tengan un porcentaje equitativo de participación entre los países que participan.
11.Si la obra es preseleccionada o seleccionada deberá adjuntar la autorización para su exhibición en los tiempos señalados, de lo contrario la obra podrá ser descalificada. Si no se obtiene una respuesta por el realizador sobre la nominación, está podrá quedar descalificada.
12.Algunos premios tendrán que contar con autorización adicional de su realizador para ser otorgado y será decisión del participante aceptarlo o rechazarlo.
13.El realizador será consciente de que por ser un festival de formato híbrido, si su obra es parte de la selección oficial, podrá ser exhibida de forma online durante las fechas de realización del festival además de los espacios de proyecciones presenciales.
PARTICIPATION
Movies can be sent in one of the following ways:
1. Online through Festhome, Clickforfestivals or FilmFreeway services, uploading both video and data in its own application form for the Spiritual Film Contracorriente.It is not necessary to register the film on all platforms, just choose one of the options.
2. Sending through the registration form directly on our website, where you can place the link of the film. Any film cannot be accepted without filling out the registration form.
PARTICIPACIÓN:
El envío de las obras puede realizarse de las siguientes 2 maneras:
1. Envío online a través de las siguientes plataformas: Festhome, Clickforfestivals o Filmfreeway subiendo tanto el video como todos los datos y documentos en sus propios formularios de inscripción del Festival de Cine Espiritual Contracorriente. No es necesario inscribir la obra en todas las plataformas, basta con elegir una de las opciones.
2. Envío a través del formulario de inscripción directamente en nuestro sitio web, en donde se podrá colocar el link de la obra. Ninguna obra podrá ser aceptada sin llenar el formulario de inscripción.
SELECTION
1. In the event that the film is selected in advance, the corresponding authorization for its exhibition must be sent to the festival's mail on the indicated dates, otherwise the film will be disqualified.
2. The selected films will not be returned or withdrawn, the films will be part of the festival's personal collection.
3.The filmmakers classified in the Official Selection and winners, accept that their films according to competition, are exhibited in the different activities in relation to the festival in replicas in Colombia or other parts of the world to which the festival can arrive and replicas in different places where the festival makes diffusion. All exhibitions will be free. The selected ones give to the organization their exhibition rights to show the short films in this festival and in future events related to it.
4.A maximum of 7 short films and a minimum of 4 short films for each category will be selected, if this is not possible, the category may be deserted.
5. Among all the short films received, for their participation in the festival, they are selected for the quality standards and coherence with the category in participation, will be selected at the discretion of the Committee of the Festival Curators. The decision of the Committee of Festival Curators is unappealable.
6.According to the dates established by the Festival, pre-selections will be made and the participants will be notify.
7. Those selected will be notified before and the official selection will be announced on July 1, 2025 or a date close to that determined by the festival on the festival website: festivaldecinecontracorriente.com and also in Facebook.
8.If is convenient, the festival could to change or move a film to other category.
9.The festival can be held entirely online or in a hybrid version. If the film is part of the official selection, accept the online exhibition during the festival.
10. For to apply to these bases the selected films automatically accept to use excerpts of images for the promotion of the Official Selection of the Festival in the differents media.
SELECCIÓN:
1. En caso de que la obra quede seleccionada con anticipación se deberá enviar la correspondiente autorización para su exhibición al mail del festival en las fechas señaladas, de no ser así la obra quedará descalificada.
2. Las obras seleccionadas no serán devueltas ni podrán ser retiradas, harán parte de la colección personal del festival.
3. Los realizadores clasificados en la Selección Oficial y ganadores, aceptan que sus obras según competencia, se exhiban en las diferentes actividades en relación al festival en réplicas en Colombia u otras partes del mundo a las que el festival pueda llegar y réplicas en diferentes lugares donde el festival realiza difusión. Todas las exhibiciones serán gratuitas. Los seleccionados ceden a la organización sus derechos de exhibición para proyectar los cortometrajes en este festival y en futuros actos relacionados con el mismo.
4. Se seleccionarán un máximo de 7 cortometrajes y un mínimo de 4 cortometrajes por categoría, de no llegar a cumplirse esta condición la categoría podrá quedar desierta.
5. De entre todos los cortometrajes recibidos, para su participación en el festival, se seleccionarán aquellos que reúnan los estándares de calidad y tengan coherencia con la categoría en la que se participa a criterio del Comité de Curadores del Festival. La decisión del Comité de Curadores del Festival es inapelable.
6. De acuerdo al tiempo establecido por el Festival se harán preselecciones, de las cuales recibirán previo aviso los participantes.
7. Los seleccionados serán notificados con anterioridad y la selección oficial será anunciada el 1 de Julio de 2026 o una fecha cercana a esta determinada por el festival en la página web del festival: festivaldecinecontracorriente.com así como a través de sus redes sociales.
8. El festival tendrá derecho a cambiar de categoría alguna obra si lo determina pertinente.
9. El festival podrá realizarse por completo online o en una versión híbrida. En caso de que la obra haga parte de la selección oficial acepta su exhibición online durante el festival.
10. Por el solo hecho de postular a estas bases, las obras seleccionadas automáticamente aceptan utilizar extractos de imagen para efectuar la promoción de la Selección Oficial del Festival a través de medios de comunicación.
JURY:
1. The Official Jury, composed of renowned professionals in the field of film and culture, will be responsible for choosing the winner in each category.
2.There will be an official jury of maximum two for each category, also the jury may have more categories to its charge.
3.The judges' decision shall be final and not subject to appeal.
4.The jury reserve the right to declare any category deserted if it deems fit.
5. The jury may propose mentions of honor according to the field of your experience.
6. Individuals directly related to the films selected for competition, will be ineligible to participate as members of the jury.
JURADOS:
1. El Jurado Oficial, compuesto por profesionales de reconocida trayectoria en el ámbito cinematográfico y la cultura, será el encargado de elegir el ganador en cada categoría.
2. Existirá un jurado oficial o máximo dos para cada una de las categorías en competencia, así como también un jurado puede tener a su cargo más categorías.
3. La decisión del jurado oficial es inapelable.
4. El jurado podrá declarar desierta una categoría por no cumplir con las características determinadas.
5. El jurado podrá otorgar menciones especiales en los campos en que se especializan.
6. Estarán inhabilitados de formar parte del jurado personas directamente relacionadas con las obras en competencia.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE BASES
1. By submitting a film to the Festival, you agree to these terms and conditions.
2.The received films that do not comply with the general conditions of participation and the pre-selection requirements will not be registered. The organization of the contest reserves the right to make the decisions that it considers pertinent for those cases not foreseen in these bases.
3. The present bases are subject to possible modifications and / or annexes if necessary.
