The South Sound Experimental Film Festival is a celebration of experimental filmmaking by local artists in the Pacific Northwest. Our goal is to create a community that fosters exploration and development of the creative possibilities of this growing medium. We aim to provide a platform for independent works that might otherwise be overlooked due to factors like identity, limited resources, or qualifications in practice or technique.
Our first festival in 2021, held in partnership with the Northwest Film Forum, was a great success. We are extremely grateful for the amazing support we received from NWFF, and thanks to their ongoing sponsorship, we are excited to present another year of showcasing experimental independent cinema from the PNW.
Through our collaboration with NWFF, we are able to contribute to a vast international network that promotes experimentation, the development of new film techniques, and the exploration of contemporary hybrid forms of filmmaking.
