Norwich
Simon is a Norwich-based filmmaker whose work focuses on themes of place, memory and connectivity in his native landscape of East Anglia. His work centres on the intersection between aesthetics and documentary, exploring ways in reconstituting oral histories through moving image and sound.
With a background in both photography and film—holding a BA in Photography from Camberwell College of Arts and an MA in Moving Image & Sound from Norwich University of the Arts—Simon’s projects have screened at major festivals like Moscow International Documentary Film Festival, the BFI London Film Festival and won Best Sound & Music at OffBeat Folk Film Festival 2025.
Simon also exhibited alongside J.M.W. Turner at the Norwich Castle Museum 2024-2025 and received funding from Arts Council England, screening at Well Dressed Derbyshire at The Museum of Art Derby, supporting the the film 'Whistle & Ill Come To You (1968) with a live score by Death and Vanilla.
