Documentary filmmaker and photographer telling stories of peace, humanity and connection.
Sil Azevedo is a Brazilian-American filmmaker, photographer and educator based in Dallas–Fort Worth. His background in stills photography informs his aesthetic as a documentary filmmaker — contemplative, spare, and rooted in the slow-cinema tradition.
His current feature documentary, I Am for Peace, has taken him across the world to hear from pacifists, activists, veterans, educators and humanitarians working for peace. At the heart of his work is the belief that small acts of connection can help build a better world.
