I had the honor of going to Shriekfest in 2016 and the experience was fantastic. Denise Gossett is an incredible hostess and the attendees were wonderful. Raleigh Studios is an exceptional venue, and their staff is equally engaging. I highly recommend Shriekfest due to its treatment of prospective winners, who are never forgotten by Denise or her staff, and for one stellar salute to the horror genre!

Shriekfest is easily my favorite film festival I've been in! I've been lucky enough to get in twice and both times, the theater was packed. The networking is great. I met the composer on my latest project at last year's event. Denise always responds to questions quickly. And everyone seems to be on equal footing. I was lucky enough to take home a bloody reel trophy this year, which was super surprising, but meant a lot.

I also want to give props to the festival for showing actual independent horror. Too many horror fests pack their schedules with the same 10 movies that make the festival rounds, as well as a bunch of old movies and restorations. Shriekfest takes a chance on up-and-comers, which is awesome!

Michael, wow! thank you for the sweet words! That means a lot to me. I have a passion for showcasing indie films and I'm so happy you noticed that. The studio films don't need the extra showcasing...they have studios. :) So thrilled to have you involved 2 years and thrilled that you have one of our amazing trophies! Well deserved. See you soon...Denise
