Shikha is a screenwriter and director who aspires to bring her stories to the screen. Her screenplay, Soaked Chickpeas, was selected in the top twenty percent scripts in the 2020 Academy Nicholl Fellowship. Her short story, O.K. TATA, was shortlisted by Write India, Season 3, a Times of India initiative. Both the stories are inspired by the experiences of migrants of British India’s Partition, whose lives she has been following through research of literature, academic papers, and archiving the life stories of Partition survivors for an oral history program. Additionally, she has assisted in research for a case study on the lives of exiled Tibetans in India and has been volunteering with an NGO for over six years for local integration of Internally Displaced People. Her projects bring her closer to, or in fact in the center of, dilemmas in the face of crisis.
