Originally from Garland, Texas, she currently calls Dallas her home. Sharie wears two hats in her professional life - she's both a filmmaker and a college professor at Dallas College.
She became a mother at the young age of 15, a challenge she met with a lot of fear, but unwavering determination to be the best mom. She mostly succeeded.
Fast forward to age 42, and she made the bold decision to return to education, armed with just a GED and a 9th-grade education. Her dedication paid off when she proudly earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Texas.
When she's not immersed in the world of film and teaching, she channels her creativity into painting abstract art and writing. Additionally, she's an avid skier, something she learned how to do when she was 52, just shortly after meeting the love of her life, Don Hinson.
Family holds a special place in Sharie's heart. She's the loving mother of four children and a proud grandmother of eight grandchildren. Sharie's life story is a testament to the power of determination, perseverance, and the pursuit of one's passions, and it's her ardent hope that it inspires anyone who hears it.
