Md Shahadat Hossain is a filmmaker and cinematographer from Bangladesh. He began making films during a difficult period in his life, using storytelling as a way to heal and process his experiences. Over time, filmmaking became both his passion and purpose.
His short film PLANET SOS, which addresses environmental issues, has been selected in over 15 international film festivals, including its world premiere in Venice. Another short film, 36th July, won an award at the One Shot Film Festival in Armenia. Shahadat has also directed Unrecorded, an experimental film, The Forgotten Lifeline, a documentary about the pollution of the Buriganga River in Dhaka, and a psychological horror film, The Call. His most recent observational documentary, Unseen Moments: Behind the Beauty – The Price They Pay, explores the untold stories behind human experiences.
In addition to filmmaking, Shahadat is an accomplished photographer. He won the Earth.Org Climate Crisis Photography Award, a Bronze award from OneEyeland, and received honorable mentions in other international competitions. His work has been exhibited in Dhaka and featured in international publications.
Shahadat’s work is rooted in real life—capturing nature, emotions, struggles, and hope. Through both film and photography, he strives to create honest and meaningful stories that connect with audiences worldwide.
