The development of series for television and streaming platforms as well as independent web series in Indonesia is growing. To support the creativity, professionality and the opportunities for Indonesian series makers as well as the quality of and attention for Indonesian series, we are happy to announce the first Indonesian series festival ever – Seriale Indonesia!

To bring Seriale Indonesia to live, the Goethe-Institut Bandung cooperates with 'die Seriale' (Series Festival from Giessen, Germany) as a sister festival as well as our local partners Bandung Film Commission and Bahasinema. Jointly, we work together to offer you an interesting programme of series from Indonesia, Germany and other countries accompanied by various side events so that Seriale Indonesia becomes a space for dialogue between festival makers, filmmakers, film communities and everyone who likes to watch and talk about series. Thus, Seriale Indonesia is a platform to appreciate series with different approaches and aesthetics and learn how to develop series in terms of creation, appreciation and industry.

Seriale Indonesia will feature a bunch of activities, starting with networking among series stakeholders, panel discussions on series, festivals, meetings with the jury and the series industry, workshops, and screenings of selected series in three categories: Indonesian, German and International series, followed by a discussion with the filmmakers. We are looking forward to welcoming you on our journey to foster the Indonesian series market and give space for international exchange by discussion, mutual learning, and appreciating all different kinds of series.

Rules & Terms

Accepted Formats
All short-form digital series are eligible for submission. The primary requirement is that all creators and directors were able to realize their vision in the production of the series.

Submission Platform
Submissions are only accepted through FilmFreeway.

Age Requirement
All submitters must be at least 18 years old.

Production and Distribution Period
Short-form digital series distributed from 2020 - 2025 from Indonesian are eligible.

Minimum Episode Requirement
At least two completed episodes must be available at the time of submission to qualify as a series.

Language and Subtitles
The series can be in Indonesian, English or German.

Episode Runtime and Screening Selection
Each individual episode must not exceed 50 minutes in length. The festival team will select the episodes to be screened. A maximum of 30 minutes of screening time is guaranteed per series, with no more than three episodes being screened.

Submission Content
Each submission must contain at least one episode. Trailer submissions are not allowed.

Multiple Submissions
Each applicant may submit multiple series, but each submission must be made separately.

Restrictions for Organizing Committee and Jury
Members of the organizing committee and jury are not permitted to submit to "Seriale Indonesia".

Finality of Decisions
All festival selections, nominations, and award decisions made by the festival team and jury are final.

Intellectual Property and Rights
All submitted series must be the intellectual property of the submitter or must include appropriate permissions for the use of all content, including music and any other copyrighted material.

Accepted and Prohibited Genres
All series formats and genres are accepted, except for content that includes pornography or promotes offense to ethnicity, religion, race, or customs.

Rights for Festival Use
"Seriale Indonesia" reserves the right to use submitted content (including name, logo, posters, and video clips) of the selected series for screening, streaming, award presentations, and promotional purposes.

Liability Waiver
Participants agree not to hold "Seriale Indonesia", its employees, directors, or representatives responsible for any losses, damages, rights, claims, or actions arising in connection with the festival or resulting from the acceptance, possession, or use of any prize.

Announcement of Selection Results
The official selection results will be announced one month prior to the festival start date.
