Sergio Gutiérrez (Mexico City, 1982).
Lives and works in Oaxaca, Mexico.
His work uses mental experiences that come from observations and physical movement as a starting point. In his projects he links drawing with his own everyday experiences, related to wandering, writting and light perception.

Sergio studied in Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado La Esmeralda (2001-2006). He has participated in artistic residencies at Centro de las Artes de San Agustín (San Agustín Etla, 2017); the Museo Experimental El Eco (México City, 2012); Programa de Intercambio de Residencias Artísticas FONCA- Secretaría de Cultura de la Presidencia de la Nación Argentina (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2007).
Since 2011 works at the academy of Visual Arts of CEDART Miguel Cabrera (INBAL) in Oaxaca city.
