The Orfelin Circle presents:
Serbian Film Festival in Washington, D.C.
The Serbian Film Festival in Washington, D.C., celebrates Serbian movies in the USA. It was founded in 2024 with the long-term goal of becoming an annual manifestation in the capital of the United States of America that promotes Serbian culture and the seventh art: movies.
In its first year, 2024, the festival lasted four days, with pre-screening on Thursday, October 17th, and a closing ceremony on Sunday, October 20th. The festival's accompanying program included the opening and closing ceremonies, the award ceremony, and an expert panel.
We are actively working on bringing important guests to the festival for 2025, film artists who are known to the public, and the local audience will choose the most successful projects in the festival competition.
As for the program part and the film competition for the festival, the festival team developed the final program announced in late August 2025. The festival will host films that have come out of production in the last couple of years, to show fresh and relevant projects, as well as the artists who are personally present.
Starting with D.C., the Serbian Film Festival plans to expand the festival to other cities across the US, like Atlanta or Miami, and it’s open for collaboration with local Serbian representatives. If you live in any of the cities in the USA where you would like to see this festival, please reach out to us so we can partner.
