Semanur Kerim, born on September 25, 2002, in Vienna, is a filmmaker known for her passion for cinema and visual arts. While studying Visual Communication Design at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at Sakarya University, she also pursued a double major in Public Relations and Advertising at the Faculty of Communication, gaining an interdisciplinary perspective.
To put her interest in cinema into practice, she participated in film and video workshops, developing her skills particularly in the field of documentary cinema. Her first documentary experience came with "Add Hope to Health," where she highlighted the positive effects of consuming natural foods on human health.
She later directed "Endless Traces," a documentary that embarks on a journey through Abkhazian culture, offering a profound narrative on roots, identity, and tradition.
In her final year at university, she directed "Those who rise with Fire," which tells the story of Hatice’s journey from the kitchen to becoming a part of the Turkish Chefs Federation. The film not only portrays her as a chef but also as a transformative leader who inspires young women.
Semanur Kerim continues to advance her career with confidence, standing out among young filmmakers for her strong storytelling and aesthetic perspective in documentary cinema.
