Sean grew in Baton Rouge, Louisiana before moving to Mississippi to pursue a BA in Film from the University of Southern Mississippi, which he earned in 2001. He earned an MS in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton in 2014 followed by an EdS in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University in 2020. While at ASU, Sean was initiated into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He completed his EdS simultaneously while filming Royal Jelly. Sean worked as a production assistant on the Oscar-winning Coen Brothers feature O' Brother, Where Art Thou? before writing, producing, and directing his own films, including 2016's The Perfect Tense and 2017's Fighting Belle. His work has screened at film festivals such as Rails to Reels, Azalea, FSFX, Tupelo, and Southern Fried Film Festival. His 2017 feature film, Fighting Belle, has garnered over one million views on YouTube. Royal Jelly, released by Uncork'd Entertainment in 2021, won "Best Feature" at the 2021 Rails to Reels Film Festival and the 2022 JXN Film Festival. Sean's biggest filmmaking influences include Michael Mann, Alan Parker, Adrian Lyne, Walter Hill, the Coen Brothers, and Mickey Rourke. Outside of filmmaking, Sean has served as an educator in Mississippi public schools for nearly 20 years and resides in D'Iberville, Mississippi with his wife, Candy, of 20 years and son Kiernan.
