South London Screendance is part of an event series, exhibiting experimental and dance short films in South London. This year's screening of selected works will take place at Whirled Cinema in South London on the 2nd June 2023, hosted by Experiment 6.

There will be a discussion and feedback session, opening a dialogue with audiences. We are happy to share content of discussions with filmmakers / choreographers.

We are looking to show short works, including short films and music videos, that create their own unique language through bringing together choreography of body and camera. Duration of films can vary between 1-25 minutes. Films don't have to be new, but have to have been released from 2018 onwards.

Awards & Prizes

This is a non-competitive festival.

Rules & Terms

Film makers / Choreographers can be of any nationality and stage of their career.

All subject matters and themes are welcome, but the body, movement and/or dance must be used as medium for communication in the film.

Film must have been released from 2018 onwards.

    I was lucky enough to be able to attend the event in London, everyone was incredibly welcoming and the event was very well organised. Everything was on time and the selection was wonderful, the location very unique! I loved that they handed feedback sheets to the audience members and the feedback was then passed on to the filmmakers who couldn't make it. Really original! Thank you so much for having me and hope to be back again soon! Really recommend the festival!
