I trained originally as an artist at Aberdeen Art School, I do still paint but have evolved towards film over the last few years as the medium I want to work in. I have several jobs which help fund my art, one being counselling which is interesting as learning about psychology has helped inform my ability to understand story and the underlying stucture for my film projects. My first short is called Becoming and was a steep learning curve of scripting - helped a lot by my Gareth partner who writes, storyboarding, camera work, casting, directing, editing, colour correcting. The sound was cleared up by a great sound engineer Keith Duncan, who is also a talented sound designer and musician who took the film to a higher lever by writing a beauriful score. The resultant film - while still raw in some ways was such a pleasure to work on and complete, hopefully it reflects the creativity of all involved and the wild beauty of the Highlands. We are now starting work on a bigger project again set in the Highlands.
