Sara Robin is a German filmmaker working between Boston, NYC, and Los Angeles. Her films focus on imagining more humane futures, often told through the lens of a female protagonist. Her portfolio spans narrative, experimental, and documentary films. She is a versatile filmmaker who loves bringing her multifaceted experience to the table, and thrives wearing multiple hats in production.
Her undocumented short film "Cranberry Nights" (2020) has screened in over a dozen festivals, including Holly Shorts and SCAD Savannah, and received awards for best directing and best film.
Sara’s coming-of-age feature script "Here To Stay", written together with Shirley Miller, is currently placed at the top 5% of the Blacklist, and top 1% of Coverfly, and is a participant at the 2021 Stowe Story Labs. It has also placed on numerous screenplay contests, including Atlanta (Semi-Finalist), the Screencraft Fellowship (Quarter-Finalist) and the WeScreenplay Feature Contest (Semi-Finalist).
Alongside her independent work, Sara has created commercial content for a variety of high-profile clients including Nike, Jordan, and Google.
Sara is an avid traveler and adventurer. She has lived in Germany, Australia, and the United States, and filmed on locations around the world, including China, Tanzania, and Poland.
In her free time, Sara enjoys hiking mountains, and climbing walls, and is typically working on at least three different projects at once. She is an open communicator and natural team player. Occasionally, she can be bribed with wine and chocolate.
