Gujarat’s own short film festival Saptrang ShortFest is announced on 19th and 20th October 2024. It is to support the aspiring film makers and talented students of Gujarati and Indian Cinema.

Categories to Participate are as Below
1. Short Films (5 Minute to 30 Minutes)
2. Documentary Films (5 Minutes to 45 Minutes)
3. Campus Films (5 Minutes to 20 Minutes)

1. Sewa (Social Services, NGO, Social Activities)

2. Environment (Global Warming, Environment Conservation, Water, Forest, Tree, Wild Animal Conservation)

3. Women (Respect Women, Contribution of Women, Women Empowerment, Partnership of Women)

4. Samajik Samvedana (Social Sympathy, Positive Message, Janjatiya Society, Social Equality - Samrasta, Addiction Free Society, Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam - Family)

5. Bharatiyata (Bharatiya Culture, Bharatiya History, Bharatiya Tradition, Bharatiya Heritage)

6. Rural (Rural Development, Village, Gau Sewa, Agriculture, Village Life)

7. National Security (Freedom Struggle, Internal Security, External Security, Terrorism)

8. Gujarat (Gujarati Folk Art, Gujarati Literature, Gujarati History, Gujarati Culture, Gujarati Heritage, Gujarati Tradition)

9. Education (Education, moral Education, Science, Fiction and Non Fiction, Technology and Innovation.

Rules & Terms

The Participants must Register themselves online on the website of Saptrang Film Society https://saptrangfilmsociety.org/

Contribution For All Categories – INR 300/- *No Refunds/ Cancellation made at any stage after submitting entries.

The films need to be submitted through Google Drive link only. However, in case of any difficulties in uploading, it could be sent physically in Pen drive or DVD.

Submission should be accompanied by Full contact details with

Mobile No., Email id & Postal address of the sender.

Synopsis of the film – not more than 300 words.

Bio data of Director.

Crew List / List of actors.

Participation letter from Producer or College authorities or legal right holders.

Detail of award/s received, festival screening, release (if any).

Film poster and other publicity materials.

Individual technicians or the actors can submit their films, with the authorisation letter from the producer/legal right holder.

On selection of the Film for Competition Section, Blue-Ray / Pen-Drive / DCP copy may be asked, if required.

Entries will start from 16th July 2024 & last date of receiving entry is 1st October 2024. The films must reach us by this date.

Selected films will be notified.

Students from different colleges, universities, film or media institutes can submit to CAMPUS FILM Category. However, they are also free to submit their films to any other categories of their choice.

Any film submitted in the Campus Films category must accompany the certificate from the College / University.

The Film must be an original creation & shall not be copied from any other films made earlier. If such things captured then its solo responsibility of submitter for any legal actions.

Any language films from across the world can be submitted with English / Hindi / Gujarati Subtitles. Silent Films are also, eligible with English / Hindi / Gujarati Subtitles.

Films in any language from entire world are eligible to participate in this festival with English / Hindi / Gujarati Subtitles

The Producer/Director or the legal IPR holder of the film needs to sign the attached declaration letter along with their submission. If the declaration submitted by the participants are found to be factually false or incorrect, Vishwa Samvaad kendra Gujarat and Saptrang ShortFest reserves the rights to reject the entry or even cancel the selection of the film after the final results /announcements.

Jury’s decision will be final and cannot be challenged.

Saptrang Film Society & Vishwa Samvad Kendra Gujarat will have the right to use the film or part of the film in any manner possible for its publicity or otherwise for screening it at any place in India or abroad.
