Samara Lopez-Jones (she/her) is an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation and grew up in the Bay Area. She moved to Los Angeles in 2021 where she received her Bachelor’s in Film, TV, & Media Studies at Cal State LA. As a filmmaker, Project Coordinator of the Native American & Indigenous Media Arts Program, and Multimedia Communications Assistant at United American Indian Involvement (UAII), she is committed to amplifying visibility of Native Americans. Jones is an award winning filmmaker through her unscripted and scripted films. Today, Samara continues to focus on addressing community needs and decolonizing and indigenizing health, wellness, education, media and arts.
