Welcome to my Mise en Scéne
Salil Jason Fernandez immersed himself into cinema and the arts from a very young age - acting and directing theatre, winning painting and creative writing competitions and making home movies on his Hi8 Camcorder. After receiving his BA Mass Media and MA English Literature from the University of Mumbai, he then graduated from London Film School (MA Filmmaking); and now freelance directs advertisements with his unique style and approach. Some of his fiction and non-fiction projects include:
The Mole, a short film which was nominated at IFFI & SIFF;
Khauff, a short film which was nominated for the Filmfare Short Film Awards;
Abandoned, a short film which was nominated at the Berlin Indie Film Festival;
Phir Se, a television film for Kunal Kohli Productions and MTV;
The Adventures of Boo-Boo and Cuddly Poo, a quirky docu-drama that guest stars Shraddha Kapoor, Jim Sarbh, Amrita Puri, Samir Kochhar, Shibani Dandekar, Cyrus Broacha, Sherry Shroff, Anushka Manchanda and Maria Goretti Warsi, amongst others.
Since 2020, he has set up his own writing team where he is developing multiple scripts and bibles. So far he has already been contracted to write a mystery feature film for Vishesh Films, an action-thriller-comedy for Ad-Labs Films, an action comedy for Black Knight Productions and a dark comedy for Entertainment Reimagined. He is a versatile storyteller whose solid foundation in filmmaking allows for him to take on any genre.
