SERCINE is a film festival that has been taking place in Sergipe, in northeastern Brazil, for 15 years.

We invite the participation of feature films from Latin America. Our goal is to present the best available Latin American films and help them reach the Brazilian market and audience.

SERCINE is an in-person event that offers a captivating experience, immersing participants in the production of Brazilian short films and Latin American feature films. Participants have numerous opportunities to connect with an enthusiastic audience, other filmmakers, industry professionals, non-profit organizations, and the media in the city of Aracaju, surrounded by river and sea.

SERCINE is a festival that has been held for 15 years in the Brazilian Northeast.

The festival trophies are designed by the artist Antônio da Cruz from Sergipe. The festival will also award the following cash prizes:

Best Feature Film - Official Jury - (to be determined)
Best Feature Film - Popular Jury - (to be determined)

Only films completed on or after January 1, 2025 are eligible.

Submissions from Latin America are welcome (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela).

Accepted languages ​​include Spanish, Portuguese, Indigenous languages, and French. English will only be accepted as a secondary language for the film.

Portuguese and Spanish subtitles are mandatory for all films submitted to the festival.

There are no submission fees.

Selection is based on the overall merit of each entry, and the jury's decisions are final.

If your film is selected for screening at the November edition of SERCINE, including its Information Programs, Official Program, Competitive Showcase, festival spaces, or educational screenings in school auditoriums, a DCP link with subtitles will be required. We will also request a high-quality MP4 (h.264) or MOV (ProRes) file as a backup or for locations that do not have a DCP projector. All necessary files must be submitted no later than four weeks before the festival screening.

All selected films spoken in Spanish must have Portuguese subtitles, and films spoken in Portuguese must have Spanish subtitles.

The Festival is not responsible for copyright issues. All copyright issues must be resolved by the filmmakers.

Filmmakers retain 100% of the rights to their projects and materials submitted to SERCINE.

The festival organizers reserve the right to use excerpts from the film for promotional purposes.

By participating in this festival, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless SERCINE, its directors, affiliates, employees, and partners from any claims and liabilities arising from the registration and/or submission of your film to SERCINE.
