SEEN TO (Showcasing Expression & Energetic Narratives) is Toronto’s premier dance and film showcase, bridging the gap between the city’s vibrant dance and film communities. This annual event highlights innovative dance films created by local choreographers and filmmakers, providing a cinematic platform for movement-based storytelling.

More than just a screening, SEEN TO is an immersive experience that brings together dancers, directors, and creatives for an evening of artistic collaboration. The showcase features a curated selection of dance films, a live choreographer discussion panel, and networking opportunities that foster creative exchange.

Dedicated to amplifying diverse voices and pushing the boundaries of dance on screen, SEEN TO continues to inspire, engage, and elevate Toronto’s artistic scene. Whether you're a filmmaker, dancer, or passionate supporter of the arts, SEEN TO is where movement meets the big screen.

Each participating film receives a Screening honorarium in the form of a percentage of the event’s final earnings via e-transfer.

We will also be presenting awards to honour our films in the following categories:

Best Film
Best Choreography
Best Cinematography

• Films must be 2-6 minutes long [including credits).

• Films must have been completed after February 9, 2026, and before January 19, 2027. (Note: We’re only accepting films made specifically for SEEN and/or previous festival short films. We do not accept films that have been posted online.)

• Works-in-progress will be considered but MUST be completed and delivered by January 19, 2027.

• Submissions are open to choreographers, teams and/or filmmakers.

• Films must incorporate dance as a central storytelling element. This can include any style or fusion of movement.

•We ask that if your film includes any triggering themes and/or triggering visuals, please include this information in your submission.
