Sara Fabris, director and independent filmmaker, was born in 1998 in Trieste, Italy.
She graduated in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino and discovered her passion for video art during her studies in Valencia, where she completed a Master's degree in Directing and Postproduction. In Spain, she deepened her interest in experimental cinema and moving images, launching her career as an independent filmmaker.
In 2024, she earned a degree in Audiovisual Heritage, finding in the personal stories captured on Super8 films a means to connect with the present.
Her artistic works tackle significant issues such as violence against women, the concept of privacy, the impact of postmodern society, and the use of memory and recollection as tools to rewrite counter-histories.
She is currently editing her first independent film, "Erbacce", an autobiographical docufilm that narrates, through the experiences of five outsider women, stories of gender-based violence.
She is also the director and producer of a second documentary, which follows the journey of two hearses traveling from Treviso to Senegal.
