Ryan Jackson is a filmmaker who’s been working as a screenwriter for hire for over a decade. After a period of time living in Los Angeles he’s now based out of Columbus Ohio.
Growing up the son of the owner of a movie theater cleaning company, Ryan was raised in movie theaters and helped his father during the summers from a child through high school.
After completing a college video production program, Ryan made the decision to lean into what came the most natural to him: writing. Once he shifted his focus to screenwriting as means to break in to the industry things started happening. He landed representation in Hollywood, started getting paid screenwriting work, and moved out to LA where he resided for several years. His scripts have landed on various industry best of lists such as The Hit List and The Blood List. He was on the Young & Hungry List of upcoming writers in Hollywood as well. He wrote a sequel to John Singleton’s Baby Boy with its star, actor Tyrese Gibson that remains in development with Gibson’s Voltron Films. Ryan has written across film, TV, in multiple capacities and has published works of fiction.
