## 1. General Information

Rooftop Films Marrakech is an independent film exhibition and cultural event dedicated to showcasing bold, original, and diverse cinematic voices. By submitting a film or participating in the festival, all filmmakers, rights holders, guests, and partners agree to comply with the following Rules & Terms.

The festival organizers reserve the right to interpret, amend, or update these Rules & Terms when necessary, in the interest of the event and its participants.

## 2. Eligibility

* Films of all genres are eligible, including fiction, documentary, experimental, animation, and hybrid forms.
* Both short and feature-length films may be considered, depending on the specific program or open call.
* Films must have been completed within the timeframe specified in the relevant call for submissions.
* The submitter must hold all necessary rights to the film, including music, images, and archival material.

## 3. Submission Requirements

* Films must be submitted via the platform or method indicated by the festival (online screener link, downloadable file, or physical media when requested).
* Submitted screeners must be accessible, password-free (or with a valid password), and available throughout the selection period.
* If selected, filmmakers must provide a high-quality downloadable screening file in the format specified by the festival.
* Selected filmmakers may also be asked to provide additional materials, including but not limited to:

* Film poster
* Stills
* Trailer or teaser
* Synopsis and credits
* Director’s biography and photo

## 4. Selection Process

* All submissions are reviewed by the festival’s programming team.
* Selection decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
* The festival is not obliged to provide feedback on unsuccessful submissions.
* Films may be selected for competitive or non-competitive sections, special screenings, or parallel programs.

* By submitting a film, the filmmaker grants Rooftop Films Marrakech the non-exclusive right to screen the film during the festival dates.

## 6. Language & Subtitles

* Films not in Arabic, French, or English must include English or French subtitles.
* The festival may request subtitle files (SRT) when necessary.
* The filmmaker is responsible for the accuracy and quality of subtitles.

* The festival is authorized to use excerpts (up to 3 minutes), stills, posters, and trailers from selected films for promotional purposes, including social media, press, website, and printed materials.
* These materials will be used strictly for non-commercial promotional activities related to the festival.

* Some sections of the festival may include awards or jury mentions.
* Jury decisions are final.
* Awards may be monetary or non-monetary, depending on sponsorship and partnerships.
